Beloved Star Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

US entertainer Finn, who appeared in iconic programs including Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.

The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles on Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, per media reports.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a statement.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

A Notable Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.

He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a party host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several well-known programs, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.

His film credits encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a comedy group of six known as Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.

Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
