I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
