Netflix Chooses Ideal Actor for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is poised to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a cherished, popular member has just been cast.
The streaming service revealed recently that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will embody Mr. 2. This character can use their power to morph into an perfect replica of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will play a version of that character reimagined as non-binary, instead of as a drag performer, in the live-action show, differing from the initial comic and anime.
This performer is joined by several other recently announced actors tasked with bringing the organization to life, featuring chief Sir Crocodile, brought to life by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and a familiar face, who will appear as the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.
Although Bon Clay is a major member of Baroque Works, the character will be introduced in One Piece the third season. With season 2 set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this marks a major departure in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could suggest more adjustments to the plot development.
The actor’s combination of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the part. Along with their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.
Netflix's live-action One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
