Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike shortly after a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his viewpoint on the UK education system, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike soon after winning the next general election,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to these assertions, the head of a major education union dismissed the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his public life on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

Reform, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

However, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – absolutely herculean. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of young people to these educational programs. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”

The college, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these excellent programs for free to all who wish to learn.”
