Soccer Analyst Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak was ended by Sunderland before the international break, however can the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' only away win this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was still that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.

A family member advised me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have got lots of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
